I’ve had sleepless nights trying to figure out what this pose was. Some say it’s a half louder pose, a speech bubble, or some sort of wave. For now, I’ve called it the “hey” pose since it appears similar to a wave. This pose involves extending all fingers like a wave and placing it near your cheeks.

I think in some cases, this might be related to a half pillow…because my 60-some year-old mother will do the ones closer to the end of the collage…when posing for a picture sometimes solo, especially if around flowers.
there’s a pretty good example of this in the music video Gee by SNSD. I remember wondering what it was, but it looks kinda cute.
Doing that with your hand is sort of like an indication of being young. its like doing the American “cutesy face” motion on your cheeks with your index fingers.

I looks more to me like the women are framing thier face than a waving. As if to say, “Look at me, I ought to be in pictures.” (Think the stereotypical director in a movie looking at the world through their hands).
