Pose Challenge!

One of the primary goals of this site is to spread the knowledge of Asian poses so that people would start trying them out. When I start seeing people do these poses, it brings a feeling that can only be described as self-actualization.

If you’d like to show the world your Asian poses, you can submit a photo/link/video by shooting me an email (not to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I won’t post everything I get). This site is currently seen by more than 7,000 visitors a day, so it is a great way to share your poses :)

A brilliant example comes from the charming and cute FuriousFeng, who demonstrates her excellent posing skills in this multi-panel image:

  6. This site should be called “stupid F***ing Korean Poses.” The sort of posing constantly and obsessive self photographing culture of Korea isn’t nearly as bad in Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines or SE. Asia.

  7. Yo Steve, how do I get my own picture on here? I hate not having a picture when I write comments. When you get enough pics, you will need to start a gallery somewhere.

  9. Interesting site but the title is a bit misleading. They are Japanese poses, they originated and were popularised in Japan and copied by other Asians. No-one would connect nyan nyan (Japanese onomatopoeia) to China for example. I mean give Japanese popular culture some credit!

    This is used by most WordPress blogs that use avatars

    @Matt – I implied nyan nyan to be Japanese using the anime reference, but I suppose I should be more direct. There is the nyan nyan song from the Anime Macross Frontier that might be useful. I should also note that “Moe moe kyun~” is another name for heart shape popularized by K-On that I will add later
